KUCHING: Sarawak Federation of Women’s Institute (SFWI) Kuching and Samarahan Division will be holding its inaugural Black Pink Run at Metrocity, Matang here on March 21.

The run is divided into two categories, namely 5km and 3km, which will start at 6am and 6.30am respectively. SFWI Kuching and Samarahan Division exco member Hamdiah Mat said registration is now open, and limited to 1,500 participants.

“As of Wednesday, 500 people have registered for the run,” she told a press conference here yesterday.

Themed ‘Love Helping Community’, Black Pink Run aims to raise funds for SFWI Kuching and Samrahan Division, and to help members generate extra income through sales of products during the event.

“We target to raise RM100,000 from the run,” said Hamdiah, adding that the money would enable them to hold more activities for members’ benefit such as entrepreneurship, wellness, social and welfare, and skills and training programmes.

Those who wish to participate in the run can register via the ‘Jomrun’ app for non-SFWI members while SFWI members can obtain the registration forms from their respective branch members. Registration is open until March 12 with a registration fee of RM50 for early birds or RM60 for the 5km category and RM40 (early bird) and RM50 for the 3km category. Participants can pick their race kit comprising a t-shirt, love shades, race bib and vouchers on March 16 and 17 at Lea Centre, Sarawak Plaza.
