KUCHING: Sarawak Federation of Women’s Institute (SFWI) plays important roles in the development of women in Sarawak.
“SWFI plays a crucial role in guiding and moving women forward with its educational programmes and projects to generate income,” its chairperson Norjannah Razali said at the federation’s 55th anniversary dinner here on Wednesday.
“The federation is an education and training ground for Sarawak women to succeed in various fields. Many programmes are held to support the government’s aspirations to develop the state, especially women.”
She said the federation polished women’s potential and improved their living standards and self-development to benefit their families, society and the country. The federation also promoted unity, better understanding and friendship among all races in the state. There are 14,295 SFWI members all over the state. SWFI meanwhile will be holding ‘Wonder Women’ 2017 charity run at the old State Legislative Building on July 30 to raise fund for Sarawak Breast Cancer Support Group Kuching and Sarawak Pink Ribbon Support Group through SFWI Care and Share Foundation (Tabung SFWI Care and Share).
