KUCHING: The Sarawak Federation of Women’s Institutes (SFWI) will hold the Wonder Women 2017 Run on July 30. It will be flagged off from the old State Legislative Assembly (DUN) building starting 6.45am.
“The funds collected from the run under the SFWI Care and Share programme for 2017 will go to cancer survivors and will be allocated to the Pink Ribbon Support Group Association Kuching and Sarawak Breast Cancer Support Group,” Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Datuk Seri Nancy Shukri told a press conference on Friday.
The Batang Sadong Member of Parliament said the run will mark SFWI’s 55th anniversary.
“Kuchingites are very healthy people these days, so we need your support to join the run and to contribute to our target group,” said Nancy, who is also the run’s main advisor.
“Our target is 1,000 participants so that we will collect more funds for the SWFI Care and Share fund.”
There will be two categories – 5.5km and 3.5km – while the closing date for registration is June 30 and the entry fee per participant is RM50.
“Participants will be given a dry-fit T-shirt and those who complete the run will be given a medal,” added Nancy.
